Our first weather day. Woke up after a sloppy, lumpy nights rest to find waves, wind and cold. Packed up with the intention of moving on but had some trouble launching off the rock we were camped on and after a dispiriting weather report we decided to call it. The marine forecast was calling for increasing winds and waves building to 5-7 feet. They issued a small craft advisory for the next 3 days while this low pressure system sits on the lake. We hauled our boats up as far from the lake as we could and hid them the best we could. We grabbed our gear and walked back the half mile to the state park to ride out the weather in a place where we could shower and sleep on a flat piece of ground. The waves never came and I feel a little bad about sitting out a day but better safe than sorry and we could use the rest. We walked the 4 miles into town, took lukewarm showers, finally got the ice cream Hannah has been whining about for days and just generally rested.
